About the Forum

The Chile-Germany Academic Forum was established in 2023, building on an initiative by the former DAAD Regional Office Director in Santiago, in collaboration with Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC), Universidad de Chile (UCH), Universidad de Concepción (UdeC), Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin), Universität Heidelberg (UH), Universität Hamburg (UHH), and Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT).
 
The most recent forum in 2025 -hosted by TU Berlin- had a total of 116 participants, including 84 researchers who worked together in seven Working Groups. 

Its main objective is to consolidate a sustainable, inclusive, and competitive binational platform that strengthens long-term academic collaboration between Chile and Germany, generating high-quality research, fostering talented early-career researchers, and enhancing the international impact of both university systems.
